“By way of further introduction, my husband, Bill and I moved to Naples from Virginia Beach in 1991. We have 3 daughters--Mary Catherine, 21, Sarah, 20 and Flannery who was born here in Naples 15 years ago!. Last fall we were excited to have my Dad, Cdr. Edward J. Shaughnessy, join us here in Naples, from Vienna, VA. He moved to Barrington Terrace in March--a week before I arrived. Having my Dad here is a true blessing for our family. His presence also gives me a unique perspective as both a loving daughter and a caring Executive Director. I have been in the senior living business for over 25 years, having earned my Master's degree in Gerontology from University of Southern California. I find that I'm happiest working in a community and continue to learn with each opportunity I'm given."

"I am the only native Floridian on board and with that comes much teasing from my colleagues. My first position in geriatrics was in the early 90's after I finished nursing school; I have been enchanted ever since. I have two sons, two grandchildren and one cat, I love them all dearly. Working here has been very rewarding to me and has made a great impact on my life. Not only am I fortunate to have a career I love, I am also fortunate to be in a community with exceptional residents and staff."

"Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I moved to sunny Naples, Florida in August of 2005. I joined the Barrington Terrace team in February of 2008. Having recently graduated from Hodges University, with a Bachelor's in Business and Marketing, I am thrilled to be putting my degree to use at Barrington Terrace. My grandmother resides at Barrington Terrace, and I am grateful to share a smile with her during the day. Any spare moment I have is spent with my husband, Justin, and our energetic puppy, Lily Belle. The most rewarding part of my day is spreading the word of the compassionate staff and high quality of life that Barrington Terrace offers the local community. I also enjoy sharing with healthcare professionals, residents, and their families that the possibilities available at Barrington Terrace are priceless."

"I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where I worked for Meals on Wheels for 20 years before moving to Florida. My husband, Ted and I have two beautiful daughters and have been married for over 37 years. I love tennis and play at least three times a week. I've worked in Senior Living leading activities for over seven years. My favorite part of my job is seeing the residents having fun. I love to present new and interesting activities and have a knack for getting everyone involved."

"I was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. My husband Tommy and I love the beaches here in Florida and you'll often find us jet skiing in our free time. There are so many things I love about my job! It really makes my day to have the opportunity to put a smile on a resident's face or improve their day. I'm also blessed to be working with wonderful, devoted staff."

"I have lived in Naples for over twenty years since moving down from Ohio. I worked as a superintendent for six years in the construction industry and as maintenance at a local condominium for twelve years before joining the team at Barrington Terrace. I have a wonderful wife named Christine who has been a schoolteacher for thirty-two years and is a SLD Speech Therapist. We have a beautiful daughter together named Maggie and two family dogs, Dusty and Blackie. In my spare time my passion is coaching a local high school women's basketball team. I have embraced the opportunity to work at Barrington Terrace because helping our residents with their everyday maintenance needs, which they may no longer be able to do for themselves, is rewarding for me each and every day."

"I started working in geriatrics when my grandparents owned a nursing home many moons ago. I love making the residents happy and keeping our facility spotless. My team is spectacular and each and every one of them loves to work in our community and serve the residents' needs. I think that's what it's all about! I am married and my children do not live nearby so having the residents as a surrogate family works well for me."

"I was born in the United States, delivered by my aunt who was a midwife in a small farming community in Harlingen, TX. Perhaps living on a farm introduced me to delectable foods for which I now have a passion. I moved to Naples and found a position in a Skilled Nursing Facility, then moved on to a large retirement community. Perhaps that is when I realized that not only did I have a passion for food but also for retirees. I worked for a year at the Ritz Carlton until my present position opened. I love meeting and fulfilling the resident's wishes. Besides cooking, my two favorite hobbies are wind surfing and model car building. It's good to be back with the many professional friends and mentors I have worked with since the mid 80s."

"I love working with Ernesto on new and creative ways to present food to our residents. I am married and am a mother to my four cats, Tigger, Cowboy, Princess Penelope and Pixie. My husband is a Sheriff's Deputy and stops in now and then to visit our residents. The residents are the most important part of my day and I look forward to serving their needs with love and care."
